It was decided to meet my senior Amarnath with whom i had ran my initial long runs. Left Bangalore on 31st Night of Dec-10 by Chennai Mail. Train was much better than my expectations and it was soothing journey.Reached Chennai on time, Boarded local train and reached his place. Chennai local train seems like Mumbai with less rush, weather was humid.
We left for Besant Nagar beach in the morning , Beach was beautiful and clean. We ran for few hundred meters and sat for while. Volley game with local guys on the beach prove out to be nice refresher.
Next plan was to go Puducherry, reached Koyanbedu Bus stand and boarded Volvo for Puducherry from Platform No.5. Charges were nominal and it take 3 hours to reach Puducherry ( 1.5 hours less than ordinary bus).First place to visit was Aurobindo Ashram. Aurobindo ashram closes 4:00PM, so we decided for beach nearby. Beach is well maintained and road beside the beach invites one to drive over there. We rented a bike (Honda-Activa) from Mission street which is on walking distance from beach. It was night and time to find out stay. Local people guided us to stay on outskirts , we left for Auroville.
Auroville has number of cottages near beach , we did some bargain and settled for place near beach. After taking dinner of Kerala Parantha and Idli , it was time to rest. We came to Auroville beach in night and were roaming around the place. Place is good and you will find plenty of Indian and foreign tourists around.Woke up late in morning, after taking breakfast next destination was beach again. Next place to visit in Auroville in Auroville Ashram. Place is full of greenary and if you have a bike , you will enjoy the visit.
Left for Puducherry town, Aurobindo was again closed for lunch till 2:15. Took our lunch waited for some time on beach. Aurobindo ashram is situated in peaceful environment and peaceful inside.
It was already 4:00Pm, we left for bus stand. Buses to Chennai were full and we came standing to Chennai. Next day i had bus back to Bangalore.

It was lovely reading your blog. A visit to Pondicherry, ideally, should involve a visit to the Gingee fort. Also, for travellers and tourists there are plenty of hotels in Pondicherry to choose from.
